LIMITLESS LOVE

I am at a loss for words when writing about the people whose love keeps me moving on in life and who gives me the strength to leap over my hard times.

To understand the depth of their love,
To repay all that they have given me,
To do all that during my lifetime,
Impossible!

I don’t have words to express their love and concern for me, so pure and strong.

Always giving me the best of what I hope for and meeting all my needs, they never provided me with anything less.

I can feel the unconditional love that is inexpressible in words,

when uppa drops me to the bus stand,

in the cutlets packed to be taken to hostel,

in the mangoes in brine carefully bottled to be stored for days,

in the oil massages umma does for my hair,

in the delicious foods made when I go home for the weekends,

and in everything they do for me.

There were ample times when I had made them angry and frustrated.

It brings tears to my eyes when I think of all what they have done for me for the past 19 years.

The wrinkled hands and the graying hairs made me realize that it is time for me to slowly step into their shoes and follow their path to the best of my abilities.

Their experiences in life were nothing like mine. Their life stories of poverty, struggle, adjustment and success is unique and would take pages and pages to be put down in words.

Still, they raised me in away I am proud of.

Have I been the ideal daughter they had hoped for?

Dear uppa and umma,

All I can give you is my sincere prayers, for your health, for your happiness and for your peace of mind.

All I can give you is my achievements.

All I can do is write for you and let you know that you are a part of me, always.

I know this writing means nothing as compared to what you have provided me with, all these years.

Still, this is the least I can do for you!

With love
Your daughter

Always let your parents know that they mean a lot to you. Spend time with them. Show them love and care before it is too late and we live a life of regret of not saying things we really wanted to during the right time. Islam too gives a unique status for parents and we are obliged to be good to them. Parents are assets that we should always treasure!
Remember to send your love to your assets on their special days!
